After moving to Dorset in 2007, David studied photography at Poole college and by 2009 had started to build a portfolio and moved into the world of professional photography.
Back in 2009 he joined forces with Seb Schofield to create Lewis & Schofield Wedding Photography. This has been running alongside David's commercial photography work since then. There are many crossovers between wedding and commercial photography, each has is invaluable to the other. They regularly present high-pressure, challenging and technically demanding situations. Both require superb interpersonal skills and the ability to tailor shooting styles to a customer’s needs.
Since 2014 David has worked as a Freelance Photographer at GP & J Baker, photographing their products including wallcoverings, furniture and trimmings along with products from their related brands; Threads and Baker Lifestyle, as well as Kravet, Lee Jofa, Brunschwig & Fils. He now has great experience in producing colour critical images of a standard demanded by a large, multinational brand. Understanding the workings of an expansive company and fitting in as a team member are critical to this kind of work, as well as an ability to photograph, process and deliver large quantities of stock and lifestyle images, working to deadlines and managing extensive workflow.
As well as enjoying long-term working relationships with several larger companies, David also works with many small companies and individuals that require strong, professional images for websites and the ever-increasing demands of social media and an image-driven world.
David lives with his wife and two daughters in the middle of the Dorset countryside. Often photographing the beautiful landscapes as they change with the seasons.
